Brooklyn + Pets = ?!?

If you think Brooklyn is crazy, just try to navigate it with a scavenging pup, or 3.

ABOUT

It all begins a little over 10 years ago with a hound dog named Hicks. He helped me start Brooklyn Bark Pet Care in 2010 and the company grew to have 47 employees that cared for 250-300 pets…DAILY.

As you can imagine that is a lot of visits that didn’t always go smoothly. No matter how much you prepare, sh*t will go wrong when you least expect it. No matter how much we prepared, there was always something new that either the streets of Brooklyn threw at us or the animals.

We hired outside Pet CPR Instructors to certify our staff, but they didn’t get “us”. Brooklyn is not the midwest and we don’t have to worry about rattlesnakes. We do have to worry about is having our dog electrocuted from a ConEd grate. Or a chicken bone. Or random poison on the street.

Our classes became so popular that we had to start a separate company - Beyond Bark, that would be a place for pet lovers to “Go Beyond” the basics of pet companionship.

We are certified to teach through ProTrainings which is an accredited program designed by veterinarians and Arden Moore, Master Instructor. We tailor the classes based on your needs.

Pet Care Professionals can earn 2 continuing Education Credits through our Pet Care Certification which is designed to help you critically think and address the situation safely and with what you have on you. Let’s be real, no one carries around a large first aid kit all the time.

Our classes have earned the attention from Brooklyn News 12 and Fox and Friends

What people are saying:

“I had a scary moment last night

when after giving my dogs each a large chunk of a food roll, Whiskey tried to swallow too big of a piece and started choking and screaming!

I was able to get my hand far enough to break up / move the piece coupled with lifting his hind legs up with a few abdominal thrusts and he seems to be able to swallow it and he was OK.

I know I didn't do everything I was taught at my CPR/First Aid course, as in the moment instincts just took over, but thankfully,l I was able to help him. I have a few scars, swelling on my hand but is well worth it to save the big Whiskey. Now he needs to learn to chew a bit more before he swallows.”
